Capability Groups
Accenture's capability groups—Management Consulting and Technology & Delivery—build world-class capabilities and skills; develop knowledge capital; and create, acquire and manage assets to help clients achieve business goals.

Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
Developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, CMMI is a rating system that certifies a business's commitment to productivity, performance, cost efficiency and client satisfaction. The SEI has demonstrated that organizations adhering to CMMI standards can enjoy huge benefits such as increased use of key assets, enhanced productivity, reduced development time, lower costs and common processes for organizing work.

CMMI ratings come in five levels (one to five, with five being the most excellent). It replaces the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) certification. For more information, visit the Software Engineering Institute.

Career Counselor
Everyone at Accenture is assigned a career counselor. This is someone who works in an area close to one’s own and who can give advice. Career counselors help one plan career steps, discuss any issues and decide how to develop one’s skills. While everyone is in charge of his or her own career (see Best People), career counselors are people individuals can turn to for career advice and guidance. This is a more formal relationship than the buddy.
