Corporate citizenship is central to Accenture's character and identity. We view it as an important element of living our core values, and one of the most effective ways we do this is by sharing the qualities and skills of our people. Ultimately, Accenture’s approach promotes social entrepreneurship that leads to measurable impact.

Recognizing the important role of business in society, Accenture is committed to the active involvement of its people in community-support initiatives both in Canada and around the world.

We believe it is important that you have opportunities to use your skills and capabilities in community-focused projects. To make this possible, we have put in place a structured approach to corporate citizenship in Canada. Supported by executive leadership, this approach focuses on three levels of community support: global, national and local.

At the local level, committees are in place in each of our Canada locations to identify specific community needs and identify actions that can be taken to address those needs. Volunteering is often a component of our local activities and our people are encouraged to get involved any way they can.

Examples of local activities in Canada include: Habitat for Humanity in Toronto; BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver; Gateway Association for Community Living in Edmonton; Le Club des Petits Déjeuners du Québec in Montreal; and the HOPE Volleyball Beachfest in Ottawa, to name just a few.

At the national level we have partnerships with four community-focused organizations: United Way, Terry Fox Foundation, Junior Achievement and Engineers without Borders. Accenture people across Canada get involved annually with volunteer and fundraising activities that support these charities.

Accenture people can choose to become involved with two global organizations: Accenture Development Partnerships and Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO).
