At Accenture, the dedicated Enterprise workforce provides Accenture’s own corporate functions. This workforce employs people to help effectively manage, and support our business and client service professionals. These people work in a highly innovative environment surrounded by leading-edge technology and business ideas. Working in a variety of disciplines with other highly talented individuals, they enjoy the challenges of supporting the internal infrastructure of a visionary global leader.
People in our Corporate Functions workforce manage and operate Accenture’s own business functions and support our client teams. This workforce is comprised of people in the following areas:
Each of these areas is different, but they do have several goals in common, including:
At Accenture, we value the opportunity for our people to continuously learn and build skills. We emphasize what we call continuous learning: the ongoing process of leveraging work experience, learning support and performance feedback to maximize one’s potential.
Three components of continuous learning reflect the various ways in which we learn and build skills within our jobs:
The people managing Accenture’s business are provided with a specific curriculum relevant to their areas of capability. This curriculum is managed by business area, and is supplemented with professional development opportunities provided to all people involved in managing the Accenture business.
Our professional curriculum consists of courses and other learning opportunities that are applicable across the workforce and focuses on general professional skill-building in areas such as leadership, facilitation and project management. Our core curriculum focuses on building baseline professional skills such as value creation, relationship-building and ethics.
Additionally, our Corporate Functions professionals are part of the broader community of Accenture in Canada. These communities can consist of other individuals in the same business practice or workgroup, and community meetings are also used as a vehicle for training and for reinforcing Accenture values and leadership content.
The people who manage our business perform a variety of jobs. These jobs are mainly situated in locations where they are most relevant to the work being performed. These locations are in any of the countries in which we operate, and may be at a client site, in a shared services centre or in an Accenture office.
Travel for these professionals is on an as-needed basis; in most situations it is limited. Many work in close proximity to their teammates, though some individuals work in a more virtual environment.
